SEPTEMBER, 2014

4-7: MAPA Safety Foundation Pilot Proficiency Program (PPP)in Roanoke, VA (KROA), $845. Registration link on MAPA website.
6-7: Mooney fly-in during California Capital Airshow, Mather Field, Sacramento, CA (KMHR). Ground control will park Mooneys together. Bob Achtel organizing Mooney get-together and will have preferential (shaded) seating for the air show, which will include F-22's and Canadian Snowbirds. 19-21: Wings Over Wine Country at Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport (KSTS), Santa Rosa, CA. Pacific Coast Air Museum (PCAM) is one of the rare museums that let you sit in the cockpit of their aircraft. Airshow link and museum link. Airport is undergoing major construction, so check the NOTAMS for any up-to-date information as the taxiways are changing on a weekly basis. Mooney contact is Scott Peterson.
20: Mooneys and DeLoreans featured at Wings & Wheels at Houston Hobby Airport, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Fly-in at the 1940 Air Terminal Museum, with parking on the ramp outside the museum.
20: AOPA Regional fly-in to Chino Airport (KCNO), Chino, CA. Mooney contact is Ed Mandibles, who is planning a Mooney dinner on Friday night. Pancake breakfast, town hall, seminars, vendors, lunch, static displays. Mooney Ambassadors will have a booth/aircraft at show central.
25-27: LASAR invites Mooney pilots to Clear Lake Splash-In, a seaplane fly-in at Lakeport, CA -- though Mooney pilots should land at Lampson Field (1O2) at Lakeport. Friday afternoon seminars; Friday evening wine & cheese party. BBQ lunch at LASAR on Saturday, 1-3 3 p.m. RSVP for BBQ lunch by Sept. 20, to accounts@lasar.com or call 707 263-0412. 24-26: Mooney Summit at Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (KECP)in Panama City, FL. Returning to present again will be Dr. Ron Dubin (physiological factors); CarolAnn Garratt (a 3-hour pinch hitter course); Mike Elliott (human factors); Roger Gradle (engine management); and Max Gurgew (V speeds). Joining them will be Don Maxwell (maintenance and your Mooney); Jay Spears (Bendix King ADSB and where we are with it); Tom McDermott (accident analysis and human factors); Jolie Lucas and Mitch Latting ("Boots on the Ground: the men and women of Mooney); and Wallace Moran (Pilot workshops: training based scenarios).
